发明名称 THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING MEDIUM
摘要 PURPOSE:To enable a multi-time use of a thermal transfer recording medium without deteriorating the dispersibility of a coloring agent component and a hot melt component and increasing the melt viscosity of an ink even if the concentration of the coloring agent component is increased by incorporating ethylene glycol monostearate in the hot melt ink. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer recording medium is formed by providing a resin layer having a porous structure on a substrate and infiltrating a hot melt ink into the pores. The hot melt ink contains ethylene glycol monostearate. As the resin having a porous structure, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer, cellulose acetate, and polyvinyl alcohol are exemplified, and these are preferably of 90 deg.C or more glass transition point to keep the porous structure even in the application of thermal energy. The ethylene glycol monostearate has good dye dispersibility and a melting point of approximately 62 deg.C. Therefore, in the thermal transfer recording medium using the ethylene glycol monostearate as a hot melt component of the hot melt ink, the dye concentration in the ink can be increased, and the ink has a good sensitivity. The thermal transfer recording medium realizes a high printing density with a small quantity of transfer ink and has a sufficient resistance to multi-time use.
