摘要 The appts. to carry and move fabric sections such as components to be assembled into garments, uses an air stream (23) directed at a diverging acute angle from the fabric surface (20) to give buoyancy from the jet (22) on the fabric (20). Pref. the fabric (20) is presented to the jet assembly on a permeable carrier or grid, and the air stream (23) is generated by a number of air channels from a radial direction on a plane parallel to the fabric (20) surface, or at a diverging acute angle, with narrow gaps between them. To lay the fabric (20), the surface air streams are stopped and a vertical air stream is directed downwards at the material, pref. as a pulse. The jet assembly (22) is brought to the fabric stack, to detach the top layer (20), and is lowered to penetrate it with jet needles, and blown air separates the top layer from any other clinging layers. The air stream (23), at supersonic speed, is delivered through small openings and channels through a ring jet (24) parallel to the upper surface of the fabric (20) or at an acute angle, particularly along an air guide surface angled at an increasing amt. outwards from the fabric plane. ADVANTAGE - The operation gives a simple jet action which effectively separates thin and large fabric sections for handling.
