A ventilating arrangement for a building opening consists of two parallel supporting profiles (6) arranged at two opposite edges of the building opening, and of a plurality of lamellae (3) which extend at right angles to the supporting profiles and are pivotable between a closed position and an open position by means of at least one common connecting profile (1) connected to the lateral end of each lamella (3) via a pivot bearing (5) and movable essentially in translatory fashion. To obtain a mixed lifting and lowering movement of the lamellae (3) during the opening process, each lamella is connected at each of its two ends to one end of a bearing lever (10), the other end of which is articulated on the supporting profile (6) of the same side via a pivot pin (11), and the arrangement of these pivot pins (11) is such that the axis of rotation defined by opposite pivot pins (11) runs outside the associated lamella (3). <IMAGE>
