INJECTION MOLDED ARTICLE HAVING LUSTROUS APPEARANCE AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To enhance weatherability, scratch resisting property, shock resistance and decorative property by forming the thin film of a strongly bonded transparent ethylene- based ionomer on the surface of a soft injection molded article of an ethylene-based copolymer. CONSTITUTION:An injection molded article described hereunder is produced by melt- sticking a thin film of an ethylene-based ionomer having 5-30wt.% content of unsaturated carboxylic acid and 25-90% degree of neutralization at 10-1000mu thickness on the surface thereof. The injection molded article consists of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer or an ethylene-(meth)acrylic ester copolymer having 70-95wt.% ethylene content and 0.1-100g/10min melt flow rate (at 190 deg.C, load 2160g) and has lustrous appearance. Both the content of unsaturated carboxylic acid of the ethylene-based ionomer and the range of degree of neutralization are decided by considering that the ethylene-based ionomer has complex moldability capable of corresponding at a time of vacuum molding and has excellent transparency and scratch resisting property as a surface coating material and is integrated at a time of injection molding of the ethylene-based copolymer and furthermore has strongly bonded adhesive property.
