A description is given of a process for foam-filling an anchor rail 1 for building purposes with expandable material 8 which is introduced into the C-shaped interior 6. In order to avoid the expandable material 8 of the filling body 10 escaping out of the interior 6 of the anchor rail 1, through the longitudinal slot 5 thereof, during foam-filling, and in order to achieve the effect that the filling body 10 can be easily drawn out of the interior 6 of the anchor rail 1, the invention provides that there is inserted into the interior 6 of the anchor rail 1 a sheet 7, whose width is greater than the periphery of the interior, that there is introduced, into the interior 6 bordered by the sheet 7, such a quantity of expandable material 8, which is just sufficient for completely filling the interior 6, that subsequently the border regions 7a of the sheet 7 are fixedly connected to one another, the longitudinal slot 5 of the anchor rail 1 being closed off, and that the expandable material 8 is then expanded until it completely fills the interior 6 of the anchor rail 1. <IMAGE>
