<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the failure of heat welding between a battery jar and a lid by attractingly retaining the lid utilizing vacuum suction force at the time of the separation of the lid from the battery jar, and switching from the vacuum suction force to mechanical holding after the completion of separation. CONSTITUTION:In a heat welding process between a battery jar 3 and a lid 1, both are carried in a heat welder in a condition where the lid 1 is mounted on the jar 3. Then an adsorbent 2 is lowered, the upper part of the lid 1 is adsorbed and retained by the vacuum suction force of a vacuum pump 8 via an adsorption pad 9 composed of rubber, etc., attached to the adsorbent 2 and having resiliency, and then the adsorbent 2 is elevated. And switching is made from the vacuum suction force to mechanical holding after the separation completion between the jar 3 and the lid 1, and the lubricant pouring well part 10 of the lid 1 is retained with nails 12. This enables the failure of terminal bending or lid breakage, etc., of a lead storage battery, occurring in the heat welding process between the jar 3 and the lid 1, to be prevented.</p> |
