A granular material which is capable of being scattered and is suitable for the curing of liquid binders applied to substrate surfaces, where the granular material comprises a solid core material to which dibenzoyl peroxide is bonded with the aid of a plasticiser which is solid at room temperature, is used in the production of a surface in road construction or in the production of road markings.
