PURPOSE:To improve blowhole resistance and cracking resistance markedly by specifying the contents of the metallic fluoride, CaO or MgO, nonmetallic compds. and hydrogen in a packed flux, and specifying the C of the steel sheath covering said flux below the specific amt. CONSTITUTION:The content of C in the steel sheat covering the flux of a flux cored wire for electrogas arc welding is set at <=0.06wt%. The content of the metallic fluoride in the packed flux is specified at 0.15-0.55wt% in terms of fluorine based on the total weight of the wire, that of CaO or MgO at 0.15- 0.4wt% and the total content of nonmetallic compds. at 1.2-2.2wt%. Further, the content of hydrogen in the wire is specified at 4-55ppm. It is more effect if the ratio between the content of the metallic fluoride and that of metallic oxdei in the flux is specified within a 0.4-1.6 range. |
