PURPOSE:To provide a deodorizing material which is thin and excellent in smell performance by a method wherein a title deodorizing material is formed such that activated coal fibers and vegetable fibers are made. CONSTITUTION:An activated coal fiber is manufactured such that flame resistant treatment is applied in air on rayon series, PAN series, and pitch series spun fibers and further is activated by means of high temperature steam. Fibers, e.g. cotton, flax, are used in short fibers as vegetable fibers. The activated coal fibers and the vegetable fibers are dispersed in water in a given ratio to make a deodorizing material. The activated coal fibers have low strength but by making the material through composition with the vegetable fibers, the deodorizing material having reasonable strength can be manufactured without using a binder. Thus, the deodorizing material produces an excellent deodorizing effect on all smells even when the material is thin, and can be cut in an arbitrary shape and increases an application range. |
