PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of the electrical and mechanical properties of an insulator having an excellent watertight property and made of vinyl chloride resin and the like by filling the space between element wires with a watertight compound based on a tertiary copolymer of low polymerization degree, and covering the conductor with a watertight compound based on a copolymer of high polymerization degree. CONSTITUTION:A watertight compound 2 based on one with a low average polymerization degree i.e., 200 to 600 selected among vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate-acrylic acid tertiary copolymers is used to fill the space between element conductors 1, and a watertight compound 3 based on one with a high polymerization degree i.e., 650 to 1200 is used to cover the outer periphery of element conductors in the outermost layer; i.e., the former watertight compound which is excellent in adhesion to the conductors and which is easy to fill the space is used to fill the space between the element wires, and the latter watertight compound which is excellent in adhesion to an insulator 4 and which peels off well during connection is used to cover the outer periphery of the element conductors. The insulator is thereby allowed to have an excellent watertight property and excellent adhesion to the conductors, and also, even when the insulator 4 is formed from a vinyl chloride resin composition, it will not lower the voltage resisting property of the conductor nor will accelerate migration of agent processability within the insulator. |
