PURPOSE: To enhance condensation efficiency by forming a cooler asymmetrically in a separate cluster at pipes 2 with the center of gravity on the suction cross- section being located below the longitudinal center line of the cluster. CONSTITUTION: An air cooler 14 is formed asymmetrically in a separate cluster of pipes 2 and located noncentrally in a hollow chamber 13. The cluster 2 is loaded extremely asymmetrically when it is set horizontally because the inertial force of steam velocity is directing perpendicularly to gravity. Location of the air cooler 14 is dependent on the location of minimum pressure. Falling condensates increase pressure drop on the steam side in the lower half section of the cluster 2 and shifts the location of minimum pressure downward. Consequently, the air cooler 14 is constructed and arranged while taking account of the asymmetry. Air is sucked below the longitudinal center line 22 of the cluster 2.
