This assembly comprises a thread-pulling lever (23) driven in a pendulous movement in synchronism with the needle bar (5) of the sewing machine and carrying a hook (23c) for grasping the thread f guided within reach of this hook by being passed through a longitudinal channel (12) formed on the upper face of the upper arm of the machine housing.
