PURPOSE:To speed up the speed of printing faster than in the case of employing a superhard alloy by lengthen the life of the tip of a dot wire by using cermet as the material of the dot wire. CONSTITUTION:A dot wire 10 of cermet is fixed by brazing to tapered one end 6a an armature 6. The use of the cermet having a high hardness (Vicker's) lengthens the life of the tip of the dot wire, and in the range that Young's modulus is enough small to avoid influence on buckling, stress amplitude to be applied to the root of the dot wire can be made smaller, thereby preventing the root of the dot wire from being broken. The density of the cermet is less than half of that of a superhard alloy. Thus, light-weight armature system can be made up and higher-speed drive can be realized. |
