PURPOSE: To eliminate an installation error by providing a projection extending outward in the radial direction on a ring band of a thrust bearing assembly and providing a guiding edge and a non-guiding edge a diameter of which is larger than a guiding surface of a housing on an edge of the projection. CONSTITUTION: A thrust bearing assembly is furnished with a ring thrust washer 11, a ring retainer 20 to store a large number of rolling elements 30 and a second thrust washer 22 furnished with a ring band 40 to interference-fit with a flange 16 of the thrust washer 11, a flange 24 and a part 26 extending in the radial direction. The ring band 40 has at least one projection or dimple 44 extending outward. The projection 44 has a guiding edge 46 and a non- guiding edge 48, and as the non-guiding edge has a diameter which is larger than a guiding surface of a housing, it cannot be installed first. Consequently, it is possible to prevent improper assemblage of a thrust bearing. |
