PURPOSE:To allow the execution of an adequate focusing action even if when the automatic focus exchange lens is mounted to various kinds of camera bodies by providing a mode selection switch in the above-mentioned lens. CONSTITUTION:A terminal means 21 which is connectable to a body side terminal means 111 provided in the camera body 100 and is electrically connected to an arithmetic unit 22 and the mode selection means 20 which selects a lens mode or body mode by an external operation are provided. Focusing optical systems 11, 14, 12 are actuated according to the signal of the defocusing quantity from the arithmetic unit 22 regardless of the operation of the camera body 100 when the lens mode is selected. If the body mode is selected, a focus detector 17 is actuated upon receipt of the control signal from the camera body 100 side via the terminal means 21 and the arithmetic unit 22 generates the signal of the defocusing quantity in accordance with the detection signal thereof, thereby actuating a focusing optical system driving device 19. The automatic focusing action is executed in this way without malfunction even when the automatic focus exchange lens is mounted to various kinds of camera bodies. |
