2-Methyl-3-carbamido-quinoxaline-1,4-di-N-oxides of formula (I) are prepd. by reacting an enamine cpd. of formula (II) with a benzofuroxane cpd. of formula (III) in the presence of ammonia or primary amine cpd. and in an organic solvent at 10-80 deg.C. In the formulas, R, R1', R2 and R3 are each alkyl or H; R4 is H, lower alkyl or alkoxy. The solvent is pref. C1-6 monohydric alcoholic cpd. (I) are useful as veterinary drugs or feed additives.
