PURPOSE:To change the setting of the accommodated channel number of a virtual path flexibility in response to the fluctuation of the demand of using a path line by assigning the area of consecutive virtual channel identifiers at every virtual path. CONSTITUTION:A virtual path is set in response to the line demand between nodes in a network in advance in a network operation management system managing the entire operation of a cell communication network. In this case, the upper limit of the number of lines accommodated in the virtual path together with the virtual path and capacity is set in this case. Based on the upper limit, the range of a virtual channel identifier VCI (start address and end address) assigned to each virtual path accommodated in a physical link is decided. A cross connect table in each node is generated based thereupon and arranged to each node. Thus, consecutive areas are assigned to set the virtual path, then the fluctuation of line demand is coped with by changing the area. |
