PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material high in color development sensitivity and color development max. density, and superior in processing stability by incorporating a specified magenta coupler and a specified development inhibitor releasing compd. in a photographic material constituent layer. CONSTITUTION:A photogaphic material constitutent layer, preferably, a photosensitivie silver halide emulsion layer contains (A) a magenta coupler represented by formula I (R1 is benzamide, anilino, or phenylureido each having sulfonamide; and R2 is aryl or heterocyclic), such as a compd. having formula II, in about 5X10<-3>-5mol per mol of silver halide, and (B) a development inhibitor releasing compd. having a development inhibiting group represented by formula III, R3 being alkyl, such as a compd. having formula IV in 0.01-0.5g per g of said coupler. As a result, the obtained material is high in color development sensitivity and color development max. density, and superior in processing stability. |
