摘要 NEW MATERIAL:A monoclonal antibody having about 900000 molecular weight, being IgM in the class and capable of recognizing an antigen specific to cancer of human thyroid gland. USE:Diagnostics for cancer of thyroid gland. PREPARATION:For example, finely ground mixture obtained by homogenizing human thyroid gland cancer is centrifuged and the resultant supernatant is centrifuged in discontinuous density ingredient liquid of saccharide and a fraction gathered on the discontinuous face of density ingredient is collected and then the fraction is layered on a continuous density ingredient of saccharide and a fraction rich in a cancer-specific antigen having 1.191rho-1.210rho is separated by carrying out centrifugation and an animal is immunized using the fraction as an antigen. The immunized cell is fused with a myeloma cell to give a fused cell, from which a hybridoma capable of producing an antigen specific to the thyroid gland cancer is screened and the hybridoma is subjected to cloning by a limited dilution method, etc., to give a mono-cloned cell, which is then cultured to provide the monoclonal antibody.
