Process for the manufacture of a semipermeable membrane on a porous conductive support. This process comprises the following stages: - fine dispersion, in an aqueous or hydroorganic medium, of insoluble inorganic solid products in the presence of electrodepositable coating resins, - preparation of an electrophoresis bath by adjustment of the composition of the dispersion, - deposition, by electrophoresis, of a layer of resin-coated inorganic solid products on a porous conductive support, - optional deposition of a number of layers, - heat treatment of the porous conductive support and of its electrodeposited layer of solid products. Filter membranes which are suitable for microfiltration, ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis are thus obtained.
