The shooting weapon, which is operated by CO2 gas, has a main valve which is opened, to fire a shot, by means of a spring-loaded striking lever which can be released by the trigger. At the same time, the gas flows to the weapon valve and drives the projectile out of the barrel. A second valve which is arranged coaxially with respect to the main valve is opened with a time delay with respect to the main valve so that the remaining quantity of gas acts on the striking lever, which is constructed as a piston, and moves it into the cocked position. In consequence, the majority of the available quantity of gas can be used for driving the projectile.
