PURPOSE: To efficiently purify a reaction medium by compounding >=1 compds of alkali or alkaline earth metals at with alumina at 15 to 100 millimole per 100g aluminum, thereby preparing an adsorbent for purification of olefins. CONSTITUTION: The alumina is impregnated with a soln. of a compd. of the element selected from the alkali or alkaline earth metals or a mixture composed of the compd. of the elements. The impregnated alumina is then dried and is further subjected to a heat treatment, by which the surface thereof is stabilized and the adsorbent for purification of the polyolefins is prepd. The resulted adsorbent for purification of the polyolefins consists essentially of the alumina and contains the compd. of the elements selected from the alkali metals or alkaline earth metals as the elements at 15 to 100 millimole per 100g aluminum. The compd. of the elements described above is the sulfate, nitrate, halide or the like of the elements. |
