PURPOSE:To easily and rapidly replace a mold for vulcanizing a tire and also to safely perform this work by placing the mold on the upper surface of a lower platen by a carrier means such as a forklift and positioning it and thereafter placing a bottom force on the upper surface of the lower platen and stopping it by a stopping mechanism or connecting the bottom force to the lower platen by a connecting mechanism. CONSTITUTION:Firstly a mold for vulcanizing a tire is placed on a lower platen 1 by a carrier means such as a forklift. Then the respective spheres 15 of a mold levitating mechanism 4 are raised and a bottom force 3 is levitated from the upper surface 1a of the lower platen 1. The center P of a mold 2 is positioned to the center of a clamping device. Then the respective spheres 15... are lowered and the bottom force 3 is placed on the upper surface 1a of the lower platen 1. Thereafter the piston rod of a cylinder mechanism part is elongated and a pin 45 is positioned to the inner end edge part of a long hole 46. The piston rod 39a of the cylinder mechanism 39 is inserted into a notched part 54 from the outside. The rear surface 6a of a stopping part 6 is set to the position higher than a stopping surface 9. Therefore when the piston rod 39a is pulled and the stopping part 6 is lowered, the stopping part 6 is stopped in such a state that a stopping face 7 is pressed downward and the bottom force 5 is surely clamped.
