A motor vehicle, in particular passenger car, with a windscreen wiper which can be adjusted depending on the amount of rainwater to be wiped aside, is improved by virtue of the fact that a signal device is provided which is coupled to the windscreen wiper, is automatically activated when higher wiping frequencies are set and in this manner constantly transmits a warning signal to the vehicle driver drawing his attention to the more hazardous road conditions caused by heavy rain. As a result, road safety is increased since the vehicle driver is continuously reminded, in addition, of the constant hazardous situation.
