PURPOSE:To apply brake onto a vehicle which travels on a rail having a slope always at a proper speed by detecting the slope of the rail on which the vehicle travels and adjusting the brake power of the vehicle in variable manners according to the result of the detection. CONSTITUTION:A brake control valve 3 is connected through a brake pipe 2a with an air tank 1, and a brake cylinder 4 is connected with the brake control valve 3 through an another brake pipe 2b. A brake shoe 8 is installed through a piston rod 7 with the piston 6 of the brake cylinder 4. If brake is applied when a vehicle travels on an ascent, a plurality of contact points are closed, and a solenoid valve 9 is closed to close the passage. Therefore, the compressed air sent from the brake control valve 3 is supplied into the brake cylinder 4 through the passage of a pressure adjusting valve 11, and the brake power is reduced to the smaller value than that in case of descent. |
