A waste gate valve 11 and an inlet valve 4c for changing the flow of the exhaust gas through the turbine are operated by actuators 13 and 14 under the control of a solenoid valve 16. The solenoid valve controller 30 has a basic duty retrieving unit (31, Fig. 2) which outputs a basic duty ratio (DB) calculated on the basis of intake air quantity and engine speed to attain a predetermined supercharging pressure. When engine acceleration occurs, it is inputted to an acceleration duty retrieving unit (37) which calculates an acceleration duty ratio (Da), which is added to the basic duty ratio (DB) to produce a corrected output duty ratio (D) to be used for the operation of the solenoid valve 16, a predetermined time after a fall in the actual supercharging pressure is detected. <IMAGE>
