PURPOSE: To load a cartridge with a test element in proper assignment by providing a keyway or a key on a wall surface of the cartridge so as to engage with a key or a keyway which is provided on an asymmetrical position of a test element. CONSTITUTION: Two liquid dripping holes 12 and 12' of a test element 10 are positioned on the both sides of a center line 16 and further on one end 14 of the element 10. And a keyway 30 is provided on an end part 32 away from the center 16 sideward. Meanwhile, a cartridge 40 comprises and part walls 42 and 44 and two facing walls 46, 48 and 50, 52. And a key 70 is provided so as to protrude from an inner surface 72 of the wall 52. The key 70 engages with the keyway 30 of the element 10 only when the element 10 is inserted with its end part 32 ahead and its normal side surface (measurement surface) up. So that only one of four kinds of insertion method of the element 10 can be used for insertion. |
