PURPOSE:To obtain a device which is strong against an external noise and to realize to use it outdoors by detecting a laser beam modulated in accordance with a transmitting signal by a photodetector and demodulator the signal. CONSTITUTION:In a controller 1, a laser beam is modulated and outputted by a signal operated by a keyboard, etc. By a lens 13 of the controller 1, the laser beam is outputted as a diffused light. In a photodetecting part 2, the laser beam light detected by a photodetector 21 is demodulated, and based on the signal, an operation of an apparatus body, etc., are executed in accordance with a data code. A modulatable frequency of the laser beam from a semiconductor laser 11 is several hundred GHz, therefore, the data quantity which can be transmitted becomes large. The laser beam is scarcely buried in the noise of an external light since the wavelength band is not wide, and also, the device can be used in a place where light is intense and outdoors. |
