PURPOSE: To confirm the leakage of an inflow control valve by switching the inflow control valve between an outlet of pressure and an inlet of a return pump to a corresponding throughflow position during the drive-slip adjustment in the non-operating condition of a hydraulic brake system. CONSTITUTION: The brake fluid is supplied to a return pump 34 from the brake fluid reservoirs 79, 91 through a compensating flow passage from a wake space 89 to a secondary outlet pressure space 21, which is opened in the non-operating condition, and the outlet pressure space 21 of the hydraulic brake system 18. Further an inflow control valve 82 between the output pressure space 21 of the hydraulic brake system 18 and the return pump 34 is cut during the braking operation, and switched to the throughflow position only during the drive-slip control operation. Accordingly the brake fluid is not discharged to the brake fluid reservoirs 79, 91 in the operation of ABS 11 in the wheel brake circuit, but when the inflow control valve 82 is unlikely leaked, the stroke of the brake pedal 22 becomes long, so that the leakage can be confirmed by a signal of a stroke sensor or the like.
