PURPOSE: To selectively magnetize nonmagnetic particles and paramagnetic particles by preparing a water dispersion mixed with magnetic material particles coated with an inner layer and outer layer consisting of monomolecular layers of a specific water soluble, org. heteropolar surfactant. CONSTITUTION: The inner layer consisting of the monomolecular layer of the first water soluble, org. heteropolar surfactant having >=3 carbon atoms and having a functional group on one terminal and hydrophobic terminal forming a bond with the magnetic particles is formed on the particles of the magnetic material. Further, the surface of this inner layer is coated with the outer layer consisting of the monomolecular layer of the second water soluble, org. heteropolar surfactant having >=3 carbon atoms and having the hydrophobic terminal bonded with the hydrophobic terminal of the first surfactant and another functional group oriented outward toward the water. The reagent for magnetizing the nonmagnetic material is prepd. by dispersing the particles of the magnetic material having such inner layer and outer layer into the water. |
