PURPOSE:To obtain a soil stabilizer useful for soil conditioning with the initial strength retained for a long time by mixing slaked lime with aluminum hydroxide, and then with fly ash depending on the soil condition. CONSTITUTION:A soil conditioner is produced by mixing slaked lime as a base material with an appropriate amount of aluminum hydroxide, and then with an appropriate amount of fly ash depending on the soil condition. In the above process, since slaked lime reacts with aluminum hydroxide to give CaO.Al2O3.3 H2O and the product bonds ground stones or soil particles, they exhibit an effect of increasing the initial strength. Also, slaked lime and fly ash function to increase the prolonged strength by the pozzolan reaction. Since the soil stabilizer contains slaked lime as a main component, it resists to freezing and thawing and have self-curing property which is characteristic of lime stabilizing treatment. Therefore, this stabilizer exhibits an extremely excellent effect as compared with a conventional cement base or lime base soil stabilizers. |
