<p>A process for preparing a superconducting phase having the formula Ln2-xCexCuO4-y, where Ln is Pr, Nd, or Sm by forming an aqueous soltuion of nitrates of Ln, Ce and Cu, removing the aqueous phase from the solution by evaporation or spray drying, heating the resulting powder in air and quenching to room temperature to produce a precursor and heating the precursor in a reducing atmosphere and quenching in the reducing atmosphere to room temperature to produce the superconducting phase.</p> |
