PURPOSE:To reduce howling noise at time of rotation and to have a connection state between a driving axis and a driven axis maintained at the time of pin damage by putting a flexible ring between the first and the second sleeves so that displacement of a central axis of the driving axis and the driven axis is capable. CONSTITUTION:A universal coupling is formed by the first sleeve 1 engaged with a driving axis A and the second sleeve 2 engaged with a driven axis B through a flexible ring 3 made of spring steel. In both the sleeves, collets 5 are attached to each of cylinder-shaped sleeve bodies 4 and the collets 5 are held by cap screws 6 engaged with the inner sides of base ends of the sleeve bodies 4. When one of the axes is inclined in the direction of an arrow 14 and displaced, a side of the flexible ring 3 is deflected and displacement of the axis is absorbed, and displacement of the axis in all the directions including the displacement in the parallel direction can be absorbed by the flexible ring 3. Moreover, as the flexible ring 3 is a ring and its restoring force is strong, it is quickly restored when the axis returns to a predetermined position. |
