PURPOSE:To offer an endoscope requiring no guide wire by covering an image guide head part projected from a sheath with a metallic wire spiral tube. CONSTITUTION:The endoscope is equipped with a sheath 4 to cover an image guide 1 between a protecting tube 3 and a spiral tube 2, an image guide head part 1a is projected from the sheath 4, and it is covered with the spiral tube 2. The connecting part of the head part of the sheath 4 and the base edge of the spiral tube 2 is filled with an adhesive S, and the intrusion of a blood, etc., into the sheath 4 is prevented. The spiral tube 2 is composed by providing in winding a metallic wire body made of such as a stainless, and an outer diameter dimension is made into <=1mm. The sheath 4 and spiral tube 2 are fixed, and a flexible head guiding part 5 is formed. For a catheter composed of such a way, the guide wire is not required, and the direct insertion into a body and pull-out can be smoothly executed.
