The invention relates to certain gaps in hygiene safety which can possibly result from the fact that downstream of sterilisation equipment, such as for example ultraviolet sterilisation equipment which naturally does not have any subsequent bactericidal action in the following piping, subsequent microbial contamination can form in the downstream piping systems by bacterial colonies forming from the permissible residual microbes (colony forming unit, CFU) on the walls, from which individual microbes or a multiplicity of microbes can detach and thus the water which was previously sufficiently reduced in microbial count is again microbially contaminated. In accordance with the inventive concept, downstream of the sterilisation apparatus lacking subsequent microbicidal effect, only those pipe systems are used, the water-wetted surfaces of which do not permit colonisation by microorganisms, either because the pH counteracts colonisation or other material properties prevent this. This final piping leaving sterilisation equipment is generally only furnished with simple fittings such as shut-off valves, mixer heads, shower sprays etc which, without great effort, can be, for example, internally silvered which, as experience has shown, prevents colonisation by microorganisms, especially bacteria, so that the piping according to the invention in connection with such fittings overall excludes with sufficient reliability the subsequent microbial contamination which is particularly feared in hot water systems.
