The mounting system for a machine and motor system (12), e.g. a submerged motorised agitator in a mixing or aeration basin or for a stream purification device fitted to a rain overflow basin, comprises a base plate (3) to which a vertical pipe (2) is fastened. This carries one or more horizontal pipes (4) with flanges (5, 6) to which the system and optional accessories (13, 14, 16) can be connected.
