PURPOSE:To provide the liquid crystal display cell excellent in heat resistance and perpendicular orientability by using substrates with transparent electrodes formed by applying a soln. contg. polyamide acid having a specific constitutional formula on the substrates, then drying and calcining the coating. CONSTITUTION:The polyamide acid expressed by formula (I) is applied on the transparent electrodes 12 which are deposited by evaporation on the substrate 11 and consist of tin oxide or indium oxide, etc., and the coating is dried and calcined, by which oriented films 13 having excellent heat resistance are obtd. The liquid crystal 14 is packed into the cell, by which the liquid crystal molecules are attracted to the high-polymer side in the oriented films. As a result, the liquid crystal molecules are oriented perpendicularly to the substrates. |
