<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide carrier particles having high durability with extremely little wear of the coating layer so that the life of the carrier particles is extended and the characteristics of the carrier particles are maintained for a long time, and to provide a two-component developer which uses the above carrier particles, and in particular, to provide carrier particles containing silicone resin in the coating layer and a two-component developer which uses the carrier. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic carrier is prepared by applying at least a silicone resin coating layer on the surface of the core material comprising at least a magnetic material.
