PURPOSE: An intellectual home multimedia storage system is provided to use an analog TV signal storage system together with a digital storage system, thereby simultaneously realizing an intellectual home crime prevention system, automatic response system and storage system. CONSTITUTION: An intellectual home multimedia storage system includes analog tape storage means for storing an analog signal from a TV(1) in an analog video tape and reproducing the signal, an A/D converter(3) for converting the analog signal into a digital signal, and digital storage means(5) for receiving the signal from the A/D converter to store the signal in a digital format. The system further has a D/A converter(7) for converting the digital signal reproduced by the digital storage means into an analog reproduction signal, and a controller(8) for selecting one of the signal from the analog tape and the signal from the digital storage means to provide the selected signal to the TV when audio and video signals are reproduced.
