PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for correcting an EEPROM of an electronic device are provided, which can correct data of the EEPROM easily by down loading EEPROM correction data to an EEPROM of the electronic device using a portable EEPROM. CONSTITUTION: An EEPROM(Electrically Erasable Programmable ROM) writer(200) stores EEPROM correction data transmitted from an external device(100), and converts and transmits a corresponding EEPROM correction data into an infrared ray signal according to an operation command of a user. And an electronic device reception part(300) decodes the infrared signal transmitted from the EEPRM writer, and corrects the EEPROM decoded fixed data. The EEPROM writer includes a power supply part(203) and a key operation part(204) to perform an operation command of a user and the third memory(202) storing the EEPROM data transmitted from the external system according to a signal inputted from the key operation part. The first control part(201) controls to output a corresponding EEPROM correction data if a signal is inputted from the key operation part. And an infrared ray generation part(205) converts the EEPROM correction data to an infrared signal according to the control signal of the first control part. And a display part(206) displays a transmission completion signal according to the control signal of the first control part.
