PURPOSE:To form the microcapsules with low ground color development by emulsifying a hydrophobic materials which can be colored thermally reversibly in a specific ternary copolymer-containing aqueous solution and then thermally polymerizing after melamine-formalin primary condensate. CONSTITUTION:After a hydrophobic material having thermally reversible coloring ability is emulsified in an acidic aqueous solution containing isobutylene/ styrene/maleic anhydride ternary copolymer, a melamine-formalin primary condensate is added to the solution. Then, thermal polymerization is carried out to form a wall membrane and manufacture microcapsules with thermally reversible color. The thermally reversibly coloring hydrophobic material is a uniform mixture prepared by heat dissolution of practically water-insoluble leuco dye, a developer, and an insensitizing agent. As a phase modifying agent, isobutylene/ styrene/methyl acrylate/maleic anhydride quaternary copolymer may be used instead of said ternary copolymer. |
