Sensor for the determination of sodium ion concentrations in solutions, said sensor being provided with a detector electrode executed as solid state electrode, with a sodium-sensitive membrane (2) as solid state electrolyte having a high sodium ion conductivity of more than 10**-6 Siemens/cm at room temperature, and with a pick-up electrode (5), comprising : the pick-up electrode (5) of a structure of the sensor (2, 5, 8) in thick-film technology consisting of twophase mixtures with stable Na ion activity and being applied direct onto the membrane (2).
