To guarantee good leakproofing and good resistance to impacts and corrosion, without increasing their cost, storage containers for radioactive waste are made entirely of concrete reinforced with metal fibres. This material is employed to produce by moulding a drum 10 and a lid 12 as well as a keying joint 24 by which the lid is secured onto the drum. Dovetail keying grooves 20, 22 formed on the drum and on the lid facilitate the keying. A packing material of the same kind as that from which the container is made is advantageously injected into the latter so as to form a homogeneous block. <IMAGE> |
