PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for extracting log characteristics from a plurality of logs in which a series of events generated in execution of an object program, etc., are recorded, an to provide a program therefor. SOLUTION: A plurality of logs in which a series of events are recorded are inputted and the respective logs are converted into the conversion logs by using prescribed event strings. Probability of generation of the respective events to constitute the event strings is calculated respectively based at least on a plurality of conversion logs. Degrees of rarity of the respective evens to constitute the conversion logs are calculated based on the calculated probability of generation and at least one event is outputted to a display part, etc., as the log characteristic.
