MAGNETIC RECORDING CARRIER

摘要

The magnetic recording medium has a non-magnetic carrier, with a magnetic recording layer formed on one side of it and with a backing or metallic coating on the other side. This backing or metallic coating is produced from a dispersion containing carbon and composed of non-magnetic particles with a hardness on the Mohs scale of 2.5 to 10 and in a synthetic binding agent. The carbon particles have a diameter not greater than 100 nm and a specific surface not less than 30 m2/g and are absorbed on the non-magnetic particles at a high temperature and pressure.
