PURPOSE:To provide the titled cosmetic composition effective to suppress the separation of amino acid caused by the damage of hair, by compounding the extract of crude drugs such as OGON (root of Scutellaria baicalensis), JIO (root of Rehmannia glutinosa), BANKEISHI (fruit of Vitex rotundifolia) etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition contains 0.1-10wt%, preferably 1- 5wt%, based on the whole composition, of the extract of a crude drug selected from OGON, JIO, BANKEISHI, SOKAKUSHI (thorn of Gleditsia sinensis), SANYAKU (Rhizome of Dioscorea batatas), GOSHITSU (root of Achyranthes bidentata), JUTSU, MASHININ (fruit of Cannabis sativa) and SHIN-I (bud of Magnolia fargesii). The extract can be obtained by chopping dried crude drug to fine strips, extracting the drug with water, a lower alcohol or their mixture (preferably 30-50% ethanol aqueous solution) at 60-100 deg.C for 1-3 hours or at room temperature for 2-3 days (if necessary, repeating the process twice- several times), filtering the extract, and concentrating and drying the filtrate at 40-60 deg.C under reduced pressure. |
