PURPOSE:To prevent the misalignment of the optical axis of a polarizer by providing an elastic body which absorbs the welding strain of grasping members between the grasping members and the polarizer. CONSTITUTION:The 1st polarizer 5 is formed by mounting two sets of prisms each having a right triangular section into the inside surface part 11a of a polarizer holder 11 in such a manner that the slopes come into contact with each other and the optical axis C intersects orthogonally with the optical axis L. The polarizer 5 is inserted together with rubber 17 which is the elastic body between the polarizer holder 11 and a base 13 and is welded at the welding points of black round marks shown in the figure, by which the polarizer is crimped. The grasping members 11, 13 grasping the polarizer 5 are, therefore, strained within the elastic deformation of the rubber 17 when the polarizer holder 11 and the base 13 are coupled by laser welding after the 1st polarizer 5 is mounted together with the rubber 17 to the polarizer holder 11. The application of the straining force on the polarizer 5 is obviated in this way and the cracks and strains are no longer generated in the polarizer 5. Polarization characteristics are thus stabilized. |
