PURPOSE:To attain ease of dot correction in the post process by providing a comparison means comparison a digital picture signal with a dot pattern signal to obtain a binary signal, a dot density control means and dot generating means and giving a proper dot gradient to a dot itself in the case of generating a dot. CONSTITUTION:A comparator circuit 3 compares a picture signal B from an A/D converter 1 with a dot pattern signal C from a dot pattern signal generator 2 and plural on/off binary signals D are outputted in response to the quantity of the both. Moreover, the binary signal D is inputted to a dot density control circuit 4, where a density gradient is generated from the binary signal D and the is converted into a multi-value signal E of 4 or 8 gradations to control the intensity of the laser beam. The plural multi-value signals E obtained in this way are inputted to a laser beam control circuit 5 and a control signal to control the laser beam is obtained based thereupon and the result is inputted to a modulator 8. Then the density gradient of the multi-value signal is dependent on each cross length (a), the gradient differs from each other and the generated dots have various densities and the reduction processing is facilitated. |
