PURPOSE:To enable automatic focusing continuously from a normal photographic distance range to a macrophotographic distance range and to perform smooth zooming within the normal photographic distance range by driving a focusing lens group corresponding to a photographic distance range and performing focusing in the range at the time of focusing in the photographic distance range. CONSTITUTION:This focusing device has focusing lens groups which have mutually different photographic distance ranges, a driving means 14 which drives the respective focusing lens groups, and a focus detecting means which detect a focusing state. In this case, when focusing is performed in one of the photographic distance ranges, the focusing lens group corresponding to the range is driven to perform the focusing. Therefore, the automatic focusing is possible from the normal photographic distance range to the macrophotographic distance range and smooth zooming is enabled in the normal photographic distance range. Consequently, a system capable of manual focusing and manual zooming is obtained. |
