PSEUDOMONAS GENUS BACTERIUM P-4 STRAIN, SOIL PEST CONTROL AGENT AND SOIL PEST

NEW MATERIAL:A pseudomonas fluorescens P-4 strain (FERM No.10194). USE:A soil pest control agent for plants. PREPARATION:A soil at the root of a carnation is mixed with sterile water and shaken and the supernatant is diluted with sterile water. The diluted soil solution is cultured in an agar medium and a colony inhibiting the growth of Pseudomonas caryophylli BURKHOIDER is screened from the obtained colonies. The colony is subjected to a single colony-separation process several times to purify the strain exhibiting the antibacterial activity.
